The Czech Republic, France, Spain, Austria and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

Austria, with a CAGR of +8.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of market size among the main consuming countries over the period under review, while market for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 437K tons. From 2022 to 2024, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports reduced rapidly to $3.2B in 2024. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. The level of import peaked at $4.5B in 2023, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

In 2024, Germany (57K tons), distantly followed by Italy (31K tons), Spain (26K tons), Poland (25K tons), France (23K tons), the Czech Republic (17K tons) and the Netherlands (13K tons) represented the major importers of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber, together generating 71% of total imports. The following importers - Belgium (11K tons), Sweden (9.6K tons) and Slovakia (7.3K tons) - together made up 10% of total imports.

From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +2.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($677M) constitutes the largest market for imported tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber in the European Union, comprising 21% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($323M), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 9.5% share.

From 2013 to 2024, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany stood at -3.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-1.3% per year) and France (-1.6% per year).

The import price in the European Union stood at $11,687 per ton in 2024, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period from 2013 to 2024, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2023 an increase of 21% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11,859 per ton, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($14,576 per ton), while Italy ($6,948 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+18.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, shipments abroad of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber decreased by -29.8% to 259K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 448K tons. From 2016 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports reduced notably to $4.1B in 2024. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $5.4B in 2023, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

The biggest shipments were from Italy (49K tons), Germany (39K tons), Poland (36K tons) and the Czech Republic (36K tons), together finishing at 62% of total export. It was distantly followed by Spain (17K tons) and Bulgaria (13K tons), together constituting an 11% share of total exports. The following exporters - France (10K tons), Romania (8.7K tons), Sweden (8.6K tons) and Portugal (7.2K tons) - together made up 13% of total exports.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +5.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest rubber tube and pipe supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($942M), Italy ($497M) and the Czech Republic ($462M), together comprising 47% of total exports. Poland, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Sweden and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.

Among the main exporting countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +9.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, the export price in the European Union amounted to $15,637 per ton, with an increase of 6.1% against the previous year. Over the last eleven years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 25% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2024 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($25,906 per ton), while Sweden ($8,075 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+4.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
